Live By The Word (Matthew 4:4)

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Matthew 4:4 (KJV)

Just as our physical body requires physical food in order to be strengthened, so too our born again spirit requires spiritual food in order for us to reach our full potential in Christ. We are being spiritually fed anytime we receive the Word of God, when we meditate on it, and take it into our hearts. The more that our spirit is fed, the stronger it becomes. And when our spirit is strong, our ability to be victorious over the flesh increases.

Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone (Matthew 4:4)

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Matthew 4:4 (KJV)

We do not live by bread alone because there is more to us than our physical bodies. Just as our body requires physical food, so too our recreated spirit requires spiritual food in order for us to reach our full potential in Christ. We are being fed spiritually anytime we receive the Word of God, when we meditate on it and take it into our hearts. The more that our spirit is fed, the stronger our spirit becomes.

We do not live by bread alone because we are not only physical beings. Just as our physical body requires physical food, so too our born again spirit—the innermost part of who we are—requires spiritual food in order for us to reach our full potential in Christ. We are being spiritually fed anytime we receive the Word of God; anytime we consider it, meditate on it, and take it into our hearts. The more that our spirit is fed, the stronger our inner person becomes. And when our spirit is strong, our ability to be victorious over the flesh increases.

Seeking The Will Of God With Joy (Psalm 40:16)

Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.

Psalm 40:16 (KJV)

Seeking the will of God for our life is not a burdensome task, nor is it something that will put us in a place of sorrow. Any such notion comes from our old fleshly nature which we must put off continually. When we live in the spirit, we come to discover that the greatest joy and and the greatest fulfillment lie in seeking Jesus, delighting in Him, and desiring daily to carry out His plan and purpose for our lives. So let us magnify the Lord with joy in our hearts! He is our sufficiency, and He will always add unto us everything we need to live victoriously.
