Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
James 1:3-4 (KJV)
One of the ways by which we can know that our faith is steadfast is by whether or not it is accompanied by patience. The Bible tells us that it is through faith and patience that we inherit the promises of God. And so when our faith is being tried by the circumstances and conditions of day to day life, by the grace of God our faith will produce patience. Patience means that we trust in God’s perfect timing; it means we know that all is well, that we can be perfect and entire, regardless of current circumstances and conditions. And it is exactly this combination of faith and patience—the essence of trusting God—which enables God to manifest His glory in our lives.
